The Federal Government’s new environment laws introduce a ‘streamlined assessment’ that will remove community consultation on decisions about whether to approve projects like gasfields, renewables or critical minerals.
This will leave communities without any say on key decisions under Federal environment laws.
The new laws would also enable decisions on key projects to be handed back to states entirely, without any decision required by the Federal Government – through regional plans and accredited approvals.
Communities deserve the right to have a say on any projects that are going to affect us.
Contact your local MPs and ask them to vote against these proposed reforms to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
The reforms have passed the Lower House of Parliament and the Government is saying it wants them passed through the Senate in the week of 24th November.
Make contact today with the following rural and regional MPs.
Ask them to vote against the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Reform Bill 2025 which will strip community rights to object and hand decisions back to state governments.
